The Denver Digs Trees Spring Tree Distribution is an event brought to us by The Park People that offers low-cost or free trees to Denver neighborhoods. Trees beautify our neighborhoods, enhance property values, shade our homes, and help conserve energy. The trees offered may be planted along the street in the public right-of-way and on private property. The application time is from now until February 15th and the trees may then be picked up and planted on April 18th. They are only $35 each and those experiencing financial hardship may be able to obtain free trees. Please apply online at http://www.TheParkPeople.org or contact the Park People at 303-722-6262.
This is the final week for Christmas tree recycling, but residents must remember the following:
- Remove all decorations and the tree stand. NO artificial or flocked (sprayed) trees. Real evergreen trees only!
- Set your tree out for collection during the first two weeks of January. Simply set trees out near your normal trash set-out location by 7 a.m. on your trash collection days during the week of January 5 or the week of January 12. Your tree will be picked up by a special tree collection truck for recycling.
- Reclaim free mulch made from your tree at the annual Mulch Giveaway. The 2015 Mulch Giveaway is scheduled for Saturday, May 2.
Please, do not place trees in dumpsters or carts. Trees should be placed at least 2 feet away from all obstacles for collection.

As always, please be considerate of your neighbors and remember to remove snow from your walkways.
